We currently have an opportunity available for a Senior Accountant based at our worldwide corporate headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida!
The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Director and is responsible for accurately preparing financial closing transactions, related supporting schedules and account reconciliations, as well as performing account analysis.
Responsibilities
- Perform reconciliations and detailed account analysis of general ledger accounts to ensure they properly reflect the company’s financial position and results in accordance with company policy and GAAP
- Assist in ensuring that the company’s revenues and expenses are correctly reported and classified in accordance with GAAP
- Assist in the monthly Consolidation process, which includes loading results in consolidation, performing diagnostic procedures to ensure data were properly loaded and review elimination entries
- Prepare, develop and/or analyze various financial reports for use by management, including the ability to analyze and interpret trends and effectively communicate to management
- Perform monthly analysis of accrued rebates to ensure completeness and accuracy of the balance. Communicate with individuals outside the department to obtain updated rebate contracts, and investigate any new item recorded in the general ledger
- Enter leases in the accounting software and reviewing the data entered by the staff accountants
- Prepare supporting schedules for quarterly and year-end financial statements
- Assist with the annual audit, which includes preparing schedules, and supporting management with the day-to-day requests from the auditors
- Manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and quality orientation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business related field preferred
- 4 – 6 years of recent accounting experience, combination of public/private accounting experience preferred, but not required
- Certified Public Accountant or progress towards attainment, preferred but not required
- Demonstrated capability to work across functions/organizations
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills verbal and in writing
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to problem-solve and apply critical thinking to all tasks
- Medium to advanced Microsoft Excel skills: pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, graphing
- Manufacturing and distribution environment a plus
